Today Grasshopper Manufacture hosted a Grasshopper Direct livestream, mostly dedicated to the upcoming Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, but CEO Goichi “Suda51” Suda had something interesting to say about Killer7.

During the livestream, former Tango Gameworks CEO Shinji Mikami (who was also in attendance) mentioned that he would love to see Suda51 make a sequel to Killer7.

Suda-san responded “Someday we just may see a Killer7 sequel” and then added that he’d rather make a Complete Edition first and then a possible sequel mentioning possible titles like “Killer11” or “Killer7: Beyond.”

Funnily, Mikami-san responded that a Complete Edition would be kind of lame, and we learn that for example, Coyote doesn’t talk in the game, but in the original scenario he had a lot of lines.

Mikami-san admitted that fans would probably love a Complete Edition, mentioning that it’s one of his personal favorite games. Suda-san concluded mentioning that he would have to decide whether a sequel or a Complete Edition would come first.

Suda-san then moved on mentioning the new game that Grasshopper Manufacture is currently working on, still surrounded by mystery after a few teases. We hear that “It’s an action game” and “it even has a story.”

Then Suda-san asked fans to please give the studio a little more time, and they might be able to announce something this year. He hopes that we look forward to it.

Incidentally, Mikami-san, who recently quit his studio Tango Gameworks only for it to be suddenly shut down by Microsoft, and then founded a new studio named Kamuy, said that from now on he wants to “stay as hands-on as possible when it comes to game creation.”

If you’re unfamiliar with KIller7, it’s an action-adventure game originally published by Capcom on PS2 and GameCybe in 2005. The easiest way to play it now is the Steam version, published in 2018.
