Fans of Stardew Valley have one more round to look forward to, as an upcoming update 1.7 has been confirmed.
The confirmation comes directly from Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, who posted it on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
While Barone mentioned that the update following 1.6.9 (which was released in November 2024 with a tail of small patches and hotfixes) is indeed coming, he made sure to clarify that there is no release date or even an estimate for now.
He also added in response to a fan’s question that the plan is for the development of the update not to hinder the development of his next game, Haunted Chocolatier.
Incidentally, speaking of Haunted Chocolatier, Barone recently shared a brand-new screenshot, and since we assume that if you love Stardew Valley, you may also have been eagerly awaiting the next game, you can enjoy it as a bonus below.
It certainly features more of the charming pixel art that made Stardew Valley popular among its fans. At the moment, Haunted Chocolatier doesn’t have a release date or even a window.

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see when the patch comes out, but just in case, I wouldn’t expect it any time soon.
If you’re unfamiliar with Stardew Valley, it’s one of the most popular life and farming sims on the market. It was released all the way back in 2016, but almost 10 years after, it enjoys millions of passionate fans.
It’s currently available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and even the venerable PS Vita.
