Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed yet again, and GSC Game World announced the new release date, November 20, 2024, in a comical video.

This isn’t the first time Stalker 2 has been delayed. The FPS horror game was first teased over a decade ago, back in 2010. At that time, the release date was set for 2012, but it was canceled.

Six years later, in 2018, GSC revealed that it was working on Stalker 2 again and that it would be released in 2022. However, the company pushed back the game after Russia invaded Ukraine, which is where GSC is based.

Things were rocky for quite some time, but the game persisted. GCS announced that the game would be released on September 5, 2024, earlier this year via video. However, per a press release, GSC is giving its team some “breathing room” to tackle bugs and polish the game, delaying it to November.

The announcement video takes viewers into the eyes of someone exploring FPS style. Someone in charge comes over a radio, saying, “The zone will remain out of bounds until November 20.” The POV of the viewer responds under their breath with, “Really, again? Gimme a break.”

In the description of the video, GSC acknowledged that fans may be feeling similarly. However, as excited as the group is to finally share Stalker 2, it needs a bit more fine-tuning to handle bugs.

Fans won’t have to wait long for more information about the game. There will be a Developer Deep Dive on August 12, 2024, where the team will share a more intimate look at the game. Besides interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at development, excited fans can glimpse the world of Stalker 2 itself.

According to a press release, the Developer Deep Dive will have a full video walkthrough of one story mission. This will, of course, show off gameplay. There will also be a new look at the world overview and a few different locations around the map.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is releasing on PC and Xbox Series X|S as a day one Game Pass title. Be sure to follow Simulation Daily for more updates as Stalker 2 gets closer to release.
