If the name doesn’t make it obvious enough, it’s a fan remake of the classic The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s engine, and we already know that it’s coming out this year.

Today the developers livestreamed about 40 minutes of gameplay providing a look at the current state of the project which already looks extremely promising.

We get to see part of the Fighters Guild questline and the iconic Painted World quest, which many Oblivion veterans will certainly remember.

Incidentally, the livestream also features the armor set that we saw in previous reveals. You can enjoy it below.

At the moment, Skyblivion doesn’t have a release date, but we do know that it’s coming out at some point in 2025.

No further hints were provided during the livestream, but considering that this is entirely fan-made work, it certainly looks like it has the potential to be a memorable return to the lands of Cyrodiil. We have been waiting for a long time, but it may very well be worth it.

This is not the only such fan project, as a different team is working on Skywind, a remake of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind similarly using Skyrim’s engine.

In the meanwhile, fans of Bethesda’s other major RPG franchise Fallout recently released Fallout London, a massive fan-made expansion for Fallout 4.
