Today, on the one-year anniversary of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Ninja Theory announced that the game is coming to PS5 this summer, and it’s coming with new features that will also be released for free on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Previously, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was only available on Xbox Series X|S and PC after Ninja Theory was acquired by Microsoft back in 2018.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will release on PlayStation 5 with new features, though Ninja Theory didn’t go into detail about what these features are. At the same time, Xbox Series X|S and PC will get a free update containing these features as well.

What the developer did tell fans is that it’s been optimizing Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. It’s already available to wishlist, though there are no details there yet either.

This announcement came via a YouTube announcement, which fans can watch below:

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, which initially released on PlayStation 4. The game is an exploration of mental health battles set in Iceland during the reign of the Vikings.

Hellblade 2 won two awards at The Game Awards last year: Best Audio Design and voice actress Melina Juergens won Best Performance for her work in the game.

The release of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 on PlayStation 5 is great news from Ninja Theory, which is a breath of fresh air after the last tone-deaf news it delivered with Microsoft about generative AI and “Muse.”
