Coffee Stain Studios is still providing consistent updates for its hit factory sim, Satisfactory, releasing a brand new update on the Experimental branch on Steam earlier today. The patch was teased a few weeks back in the form of a postcard trailer, which you can see below.
Satisfactory update 1.1 adds a slew of quality of life improvements, fidelity updates, and plenty of new features for testing out. One of the most exciting new additions is controller support.
Players can now hook up either an Xbox or DualSense controller by going into the controls section of the menu and applying the correct mapping. On the UI side of things, Photo Mode is getting a brand new look, including new filters, effects, poses, frames, colour adjustments, and camera lenses, as well as new modes and ways to move the camera around.
Crash site dismantling and personal elevators will also change how you approach your builds in Satisfactory update 1.1. Now, you’ll be able to clean up debris from sites to net you some extra resources and will have more traversal options thanks to the ability to build elevators, each with its own customizable floor stops that you can name and assign colors and icons to.
Other slight changes in the update include changes to trains and buildings. Trains now have buffer stops, improved signals/paths, and major railway reworks, while buildings have reworked logistics, adding conveyor wall holes, splitter and merger support for conveyor lifts, and a new merger type that allows you to prioritize which output should be first.
Architecture-wise, there are a lot of new beams and items that can be found in the AWESOME Shop:
- H-Beam
- Shelf Beam
- Round Concrete Beam
- Braided Cable (it’s a beam)
- Braided Cable Cluster (it’s also a beam)
- Roll-Up Gate (FICSIT, Concrete, Steel)
- Road Barrier Corner
- Basic Shelf Unit
- Large Vent
- Large Fan
Lastly, players can experience narrative 1.0, which adds many more ADA voice lines for new and onld content and interactions, making the story and world feel even more alive. As with any update, there are a handful of bug fixes implemented alongside Satisfactory update 1.1, which can all be seen here.
Satisfactory is currently available on Steam for $39.99.
