To start with, there are two new experimental features: a UI scale and key rebinding. There were also a few other things added, including the following:

  • One-time tutorial recommendation when creating a new campaign
  • Player class descriptions when creating a character
  • Auto Crew option
  • Sort by Faction option on the minimap

There’s also a new Island Capture options screen. This lets players easily do things like Sack, Occupy, or Gift captured islands.

As for fixes, there were several changes like maps appearing on the minimap with the correct name after they’ve been renamed, shipyards and taverns not creating ships, Stats screen problems, and more.

Additionally, there were some changes to Rise of Piracy in general. Now, storms will deal damage over time (though Explorers are immune to this), and treasure maps show a larger area. Additionally, treasure can be detected from farther away.

There were also changes to how stats are gathered after certain battles. Balance changes were also implemented for Troops and Ships.

Players can also now choose to switch to a public test branch of Rise of Privacy on Steam. Players can easily switch between the branches with their current campaign.

Since the early access release of Rise of Piracy, solo developer IrishJohnGames has implemented 35 smaller updates, addressing bugs and adding changes and improvements to the pirate simulator.
