Today, KW Studios announced that its free-to-play racing simulation RaceRoom is getting some considerable updates that are available now, September 4, 2024. Alongside some brand new content coming in collaboration with the DTR series, an extensive graphics overhaul that focuses on realism.
To celebrate the 40 year anniversary of the DTR series, players are now able to relive the “old DTM” with the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti and the Opel Calibra V6. These come alongside the existing Mercedes lineup and will also feature the following matching tracks: Hockenheim Classic, Avus, and Diepholz complete the journey back in time.
Updated graphics features include things like improved lighting, rendering, and motion blur. Plenty of quality of life changes to menu UI and performance changes like a higher frame-rate are also coming alongside the patch. One of the most notable changes coming to RaceRoom is the cloud coverage selector feature.
You’ll now be able to choose from clear, few clouds, scattered clouds, and overcast skies, adding a realistic feel to the racing experience. For single player, their will be dynamic transitions during seasons, while multiplayer admins will have full control over transitions.
Lastly, there are a fair amount of new cars and tracks coming alongside the update, which can be seen below alongside the announcement trailer for the racing simulator:
- New Car – DTM 1995 – Alfa Romeo 155 TI
- New Car – DTM 1995 – Opel Calibra V6 DTM
- DTM 1995 – Added new liveries to the AMG-Mercedes C-Klasse ( #22-Uwe Alzen and #24-Gerd Ruch)
- New Track – AVUS ( Automobil-Verkehrs- und Ãœbungsstraße ) with 1994 and 1998 layouts
- New Track – Fliegerhorst Diepholz
- New Track – Hockenheimring Classic with GP and Short layouts
