After a handful of delays and a successful early access period, Siscia Games announced that its highly anticipated simulation title, Pompeii: The Legacy, is set to launch as a fully completed title on April 6th.
Pompeii: The Legacy 1.0 will feature all 52 updates that were released during early access, which focused on:
- The majority of planned buildings have been implemented, only one remaining building is still in production
- Major UI panels and management systems completed
- Performance optimizations across large cities
- Trade, economy, and progression balancing
- Visual polish and LOD improvements
- Ambient details and environmental effects
The work yet to be implemented and included in the final release includes finalizing a combat-related panel, completing combat mechanics, and polishing and testing the storyline. While there will still be some additions added after the launch, the narrative content is largely complete and is currently undergoing thorough testing and refinement.
The post-launch roadmap plans will be to add controller support, modding/Steam workshop integration, and Steam Deck optimization, all of which are already scheduled for post-launch updates. In anticipation of the release, update v0.740.0 was also released earlier today, bringing fresh details, optimizations, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements across the game.
In Pompeii: The Legacy, players will be able to model and add upon one of the most famous and tragic locations in Italy, as the game places them in the shoes of the head of a Roman family overseeing Pompeii’s reconstruction over several generations. Spanning multiple generations, the strategy title blends city management, narrative storytelling, political decision-making, and survival mechanics, tasking you with rebuilding, expanding, and defending your Roman settlement while navigating family drama, shifting alliances, and the looming threat of natural disasters.
Pompeii: The Legacy will be available on PC (Epic Games and Steam) for $20.00 or more. For more information on this and other unique period-piece city builders like Roman Triumph and Noble Legacy, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
