Frontier Developments shared a first look at the gameplay of Planet Zoo 2, revealing aquatic and flying animals for the first time.
The gameplay trailer shows off several new animals, including the Red Deer, Masai Giraffe, Blackspotted Puffer, White-tailed Eagle, Great Hornbill, and Eurasian Beaver. These join the lineup of previously announced animals like the Grey Wolf, Sumatran Tiger, Hawksbill Turtle, and Toco Toucan. A variety of fish species were also shown off in the latest trailer.
There are also a few looks at the new aquatic and flying animal exhibits. Players will be able to build aquariums for the first-time, along with enclosed habitats for flying animals. The trailer shows what it looks like to build these enclosures, along with specific things these animals will need.
Players will need to keep animals well-cared for and happy, which will affect the behavior of the animals. Between food, water, enrichment, cleanliness, and more, players will have to make sure each animal has everything they need and want.
Planet Zoo 2 is also focusing more on the conservation efforts of zookeeping. Players will want to restore environments by repopulating them with native species, as many accredited zoos do in real life. One of these areas that has been revealed already is the Scottish Highlands, which will include animals such as the Red Deer and White-tailed Eagles.
