Today, S-Game showed off a brand new gameplay trailer for its highly anticipated upcoming action RPG, Phantom Blade Zero.
The gameplay trailer, titled Year of the Snake, showcases plenty of significant upgrades, including enhanced textures, models, and lighting, while also teasing the action and combat players can expect in Phantom Blade Zero. The video revolves around a two-phase boss fight against the Seven Judgments.
When the enemies appear for this battle, they surround you in the positions of the Big Dipper constellation, with their leader, the Decree, taking up the heart of the formation. Attacks include everything from pendulum-like swings to puppets that flight up or away for a powerful thrust attack that can be dodged.
Players will have their own unique attacks and weapons to take on the Seven Judgements with, including the snake-themed White Python and Red Viper swords. This dual-wield of one short sword and one long sword makes for a deadly combo, emphasizing multi-hits with alternating attacks to help break unique guards.
The trailer also showed off two new Phantom Edges, which are your special secondary weapons:
Savage Axe
- Charges for three powerful strikes, dealing heavy Sha-Chi damage to enemies.
- Timing is crucial, as the charging process is slow and can be interrupted.
- Three quick taps on R2 launches the same 3-combo attack without charging, but consumes more Sha-Chi.
Ink Cut
- Combo-oriented artifact. Its attacks can be chained together with Soul’s primary weapon hits to expand the overall combo.
- Serves as a key plot device and delivers unique effects in specific battles.

No release date for Phantom Blade Zero has been revealed yet, but the end of the video does state that fans can expect an announcement regarding the window at some point in 2025. For now, it will only be available on PS5 and PC.
