Paradox Teases Reveal of “Project Caesar” Grand Strategy Game

Today, Paradox Interactive and Studio Tinto teased that they’ll be announcing a brand new major grand strategy title via a livestream event. The event will air on YouTube starting on May 8 at 12 pm ET.

Studio Tinto has teased the game for the last year, releasing development diaries where they detail all the feedback they’ve received on features, key game systems, and historical research from the community. Currently under the codename Project Caesar, the title is believed to be the next installment in the Europa Universalis series.

Paradox Interactive has developed and published strategy games for over 25 years now, including titles like Cities: Skylines, Prison Architect, Stellaris, Hearts of Iron 4, Crusader Kings 3, and Victoria 3. The company formed Studio Tinto back in 2020, revealing that it would operate out of Barcelona and that Johan Andersson would be the lead.

Andersson is best known for his work on Europa Universalis 4, which is why many believe the next game will likely be a sequel. It has been over a decade since the game was released to much acclaim on PC back in 2013, so it would make sense that Paradox would want to revisit the series.

Much like their other strategy titles, the Europa series is about history and ruling over an empire to shape its future, featuring unparalleled freedom, depth, and historical accuracy. For more information on the yet-to-be-announced title, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily after the livestream airs next week, as we’ll have everything you need to know about its strategy gameplay.
