Today, the developers of Palia at Singularity 6 had a few rather relevant announcements to make about the future of the cozy life simulation MMO.

First of all, the game is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with this expansion to new platforms slated for May 13, 2025. Full cross-platform will be supported, so you can play with your friends regardless of whether you’re on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, or Nintendo Switch.

On the same day, the MMORPG will get a major expansion titled “Elderwood,” which will prompt players to explore a new region that is a tad more spooky (but still cozy) compared to what players are used to.

With its massive trees and bouncy mushrooms, the region includes an element of verticality, and players will be able to gradually uncover its mysteries and unlock its abundant goodies.

I actually was walked through the initial part of the story by the developers themselves, and there appears to be plenty to explore and enjoy, including meeting new NPC and deepening your ties with familiar ones.

There will be new themed collectibles and new creatures to hunt, like the Ogapuu and the Shmole.

An interesting addition are artifacts that help you unlock relics that you can collect and level up, gradually unlocking their powers. Players are encouraged to level up different relics from their friends so that they can benefit from their combined effects when they group together.

There is even a relic that powers up other relics, allowing them a level that they wouldn’t be able to achieve on their own.

Below, you can see the new area in all of its spooky (but cozy) glory.

Incidentally, on May 13, Palia is bringing back the “Refer A Friend” Program, allowing you to earn the Elderwood Fun Guy plushie in five sizes depending on how many friends you bring into the fold.

We hear about the announcement from Anthony Leung, CEO & Co-Founder of Singularity 6.

“Coming to more consoles is a huge milestone for us, because we are finally able to put Palia into the hands of players everywhere, no matter where they are.

When we set out to create Palia, we designed it as a love letter to life sim fans with a fantasy adventure twist, and we’re incredibly grateful to our community of players who have helped us realize this vision, forever inspiring us through the ways that they play, interact and create in Palia.

We look forward to continuing to evolve the game’s ever-growing world through new avenues for adventure and creativity for many years to come.”
