Today, 1M Bits Horde detailed plenty of info for the early access releases of its survival settlement RPG, Nested Lands.
Following the early access launch, players can look forward to updates related to settlement building, expansions to the main story, a new biome, and fishing. Quality-of-life improvements will also be implemented alongside the content updates and will be based on community feedback.
The Dark Waters biome will be the major story expansion for Nested Lands, adding the final narrative arc to the game’s main storyline. This expansion is planned for release midway through the roadmap, but players will have to bide their time by keeping their villagers fed by raising livestock, thanks to new buildings and a growth and reproduction system.
Fishing is set to be implemented sometime after the release of The Dark Waters. Between those two on the roadmap is the Expeditions update, which will also allow players to send their more adventurous villagers to remote islands to explore and collect loot, though they’ll need to beware of raiders who threaten to burn down the village.

For those who may not have heard of it, Nested Lands is a medieval survival-settlement RPG set during the Black Death. Players start with nothing and must work to build a functioning village by gathering resources, enduring nasty plague outbreaks, and protecting their people from roaming bandits and unstable, plague-twisted foes.
You’ll be responsible for leading a village, surviving a deadly outbreak, and the question of the main character’s own mental state and personal hygiene.
Nested Lands is set to launch into Early Access for PC (Steam, GOG, & Epic Games Store) on February 25, 2025. No console release has been mentioned as of yet.
