Today Capcom revealed three gameplay videos focusing on the upcoming Monster Hunter game Monster Hunter Wilds.
The first provides a look at the new mounts that are basically dino chocobos, the Seikret. Interestingly, they will guide us automatically to the monster target when we’re on a quest.
When we’re mounted, we’re also able to perform actions like using healing items, sharpening our weapons, gathering materials, or switching to a secondary weapon.
The video continues by showing off the more familiar Slinger, which can shoot a variety of ammo that can be gathered in the world. It can also be used to gather distant items.
The second video focuses on… Focus Mode, which will let us aim our attacks and guards, and also hit previously inflicted wounds resulting in special attacks and extra damage.
The third video is more familiar ground for fans of the series, taking a look at one of the weapons that we’ll be able to use in Monster Hunter Wilds, the Great Sword.
As usual, it’s a heavy and slow weapon that can hit really hard when it does. It’s also capable of guarding against monster attacks. You can see it in action below.
Monster Hunter Wilds is basically a successor of the super-popular Monster Hunter World released in 2018. Considering that this site is called Simulation Daily, you can imagine we’re pretty excited about its world simulation, which seems to be even more intricate and interesting than what was featured in its predecessor.
The game is coming in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
