Little Knight Games has released a brand new demo for their game Mira and the Legend of the Djinns on Steam today. The developers state that compared to the previous demo, this version is a big step forward with a polished route, improved combat, and overall better presentation.
Mira and the Legend of the Djinns is a 2D Metroidvania with Moroccan-inspired environments, ancient ruins, Djinn magic, and fast-paced elemental combat. The game is heavily influenced by Amazigh culture, which is the indigenous ethnic group of North Africa, with Gnawa spiritual traditions and folklore.
Players take control of Yuba, a treasure hunter who discovers an ancient necropolis. There, he meets a Djinn named Mira who has forgotten her memories. Yuba must form a spiritual bond with Mira, uncover powerful weapons, explore forgotten locations, fight mutated creatures, and discover the truth behind the disaster that shaped the land.
There is also a new gameplay trailer to go along with the demo, and you can watch it below.
In addition to the polish and combat improvements, the demo also has a new feature called Arena Mode. This mode lets players try out a second weapon, experiment with skills, and replay combat challenges outside of the main route.
Mira and the Legend of the Djinn is also part of the Game Devs of Color Showcase, which amplifies the creative power held by people of color in game development.
