Today, Mojang announced it will be unleashing a handful of new versions of baby farm mobs into the Minecraft testing servers.
In total, there will be eight new versions of baby farm mobs, including:
- Calves (baby cows)
- Lambs (baby sheep)
- Piglets (baby pigs)
- Kittens (baby cats)
- Baby ocelots
- Wolf pups (baby wolves)
- Baby chickens
- Baby rabbits
In earlier versions of Minecraft, baby mobs were just scaled-down versions of adult mobs with big heads. According to the developers, the redesigned mobs make the babies appear chunkier, floofier, and more charming.
The new baby mobs also have single-pixel eyes, rather than the two-pixel eyes typical of adult mobs, which creates an “adorable” new vibe. Lastly, new sound bites have been added to reflect the tinier versions of each animal.

This update is currently available for testing in the latest Java snapshot and Bedrock beta/preview versions of the game. If you’re interested in more Minecraft content, be sure to check out the new DLC that focuses on a crossover with the Stranger Things TV series.
