Today third-party developer Just Flight posted an extensive report on what its customers can expect in terms of updates, especially on the front of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatibility.

In the post on the official website, we get the confirmation that all Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatibility updates from the developers will be free regardless of store.

The Piper PA-28 series will get a big update which will include the flight model changes already released for the PA-28-161 Warrior II in November on top of bug fixes and improvements and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatibility.

The BAE Hawk T1A is getting an update so significant that it will be named “version 2” including a new flight model and the latest features in the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK.

It’ll also come with improved navigation light models, improved HSI ‘wobble’, and improved drum animations, on top of new liveries and cosmetic weapons on the marketplace. Version 2 will also be compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The BAE 146 will get another “sizeable” update including the improvements to systems logic created for the RJ professional, like the cabin conditioning system, on top of fixes and more upgrades based on user fixes. Again, MSFS 2024 compatibility will be included.

FS Traffic is also getting an update (draft update notes are already available). A port to MSFS 2024 is being evaluated and the developers hope that some new functions added to the SDK can improve the experience even further. More news about this is forthcoming.

The Xbox Series X|S version has been in testing, but it has been held back by memory limitations. Since extra memory has been freed up in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a release for Xbox may be re-evaluated.

The Fokker F28 will also get a “version 2” and you can read a list of changes in a dedicated document, including more flight deck customization options like a custom-coded UNS-1 Flight Management System, new cockpit equipment such as an altitude preselect controller, Interactive paper checklists, two types of passenger oxygen regulator, window shades, and a redesigned EFB interface with passenger boarding and refueling simulation.

It’ll release in early 2025 including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatibility.

The Avro Vulcan bomber will be getting custom smoke effects for both the engines and the rapid start system in the next update. Another following update will include cosmetic weapons on the marketplace and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatibility.

The Piper PA-38 Tomahawk will get its own MSFS 2024 compatibility update in the “near future” and the developers are evaluating whether to adopt the sim’s native walkaround system and which other new features from the new simulator they can add.

The Avro RJ is already compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and the developer is waiting for the marketplace to launch in the new simulator to bring that version as well.

The aircraft will be supported with updates for a long time to come and its developers are working on a v1.3 update that will include further bug fixes, improvements, and features requested by the community.

There is some news for X-Plane 12 users as well, with the next GA aircraft to come to Laminar Research’s simulator being the Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II developed in collaboration with Thranda Design.

It’ll come with 8K interior and exterior textures and a custom EFB with the ability to change aircraft configuration options, view interactive checklists, and control the Dynamic Liveries feature. It’s about to enter beta and should release in early 2025.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Microsoft Flight Simulator are available for PC and Xbox. X-Plane 12 is available only for PC.

You can also check out our in-depth analysis of how much data the simulator downloads from the cloud, clearing the air from some widespread misinformation that made the rounds over the past few weeks.
