Earlier this year, Konami officially announced that it would be remaking Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which originally released back in 2004, and that it would be released in June 2025. Despite only being out for that small amount of time, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater has already sold 1 million copies across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater features the same story, characters, voice acting, gameplay, and music that made the original installment so successful, and rebuilds it using modern hardware, especially in the graphics and optimization departments. Flat PS2 textures have now been transformed into the realistic environments you were imagining back in the day, showcasing all the expansive jungles, forests, and swamps the game has to offer.
Even Snakes’ clothing is authentic and realistic, tearing in accordance with each battle. Each wound he sustains will also remain etched on his body, telling the story of each player’s journey through a map of unique scars across his body.
Each cutscene and every corner of the world has also been enhanced with cutting-edge technology, letting players experience the thrill of tactical espionage action missions and sneaking into hostile environments without being detected by the enemy in striking, modern detail. There is no word on whether Konami plans to remake any of the other games in the series as of yet, but the success of this title could be a good indication.
Speaking of Konami, they are expecting to continue growing and thriving this fiscal year after it reported strong financial results last month, ending the 2024 fiscal year on a high note. Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is currently available for $69.99. For more information on this and other Konami titles, like Silent Hill f and Edens Zero, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
