Today, Insomniac Games, developers of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, announced that Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PS5 on September 15, 2026.
Marvel’s Wolverine was officially announced in September 2021, with Brian Horton serving as creative director game director Cameron Christian. The game is written by Mary Kenney, Walt Williams, Nick Folkman, and Joe Halstead.
The story centers around Logan’s search for answers about his past and the brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination he will unleash in order to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be. This search will send him on perilous excursions to exotic locales, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada, and the narrow city streets of Tokyo.
Gameplay is built around fast, fluid, and ferocious combat, featuring exhilarating, action-packed set pieces, robust accessibility features, and a gripping story that taps into the core tenets. As many fans of the character know, not every action of Logan’s is heroic, as his style tends to be much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac’s previous works (Spider-Man, Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank, etc.).
Along the way, he will encounter familiar faces on his journey, like the elusive Mystique and the brutish Omega Red. While some will be allies, others, such as the Reavers, will unleash all-out attacks to try to end his story before he can uncover his past.
Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, and will be available exclusively for PS5. For more information on this and other Sony exclusives, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
