NetEase has revealed the changes coming to characters and team-up abilities in next week’s Marvel Rivals update, Version 20250808.
To kick things off, let’s look at the team-up ability changes. Atlas Bond (Iron Fist, Luna Snow) and Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock, Mantis, Star-Lord) are being removed completely with Version 20250808.
To cover the two leaving team-ups, two new ones are being added as Season 3.0 continues:
- Duality Dance (Adam Warlock, Luna Snow): Luna Snow gets a Light and Shadow Karma ability
- Vibrant Vitality (Mantis, Groot, Loki): Mantis gets a 10% increase in healing, Groot gets a Wild Wall, and Loki gets a Deific Blessing
Loki is leaving the Ragnarok Rebirth team-up (which will now include Hela and Thor only). As for new additions, Iron Fist is joining Chilling Assault (which currently has Luna Snow and Hawkeye), Blade will join Lunar Force (which also has Cloak and Dagger and Moon Knight), and Star-Lord is teaming up with Rocket Raccoon and Peni Parker in Rocket Network.
Only the Ever-Burning Bond (Human Torch, Spider-Man) team-up ability is getting adjusted without any additions or removals. Spider-Man’s combo is being buffed in this, making it so that his backflip distance is only 7 meters instead of 12.
When it comes to hero changes, there are quite a few. First up are the Vanguards:
- Doctor Strange: Daggers of Denak projectile charges increased to 10 (instead of 8), and Cloak of Levitations cooldown decreased to 12 seconds (instead of 15)
- Groot: Vine Strike range increased to 22 meters (instead of 20 meters), and Flora Colossus effect radius increased to 24 meters (instead of 20 meters)
- Magneto: Metal Bulwark and Iron Bulwark shield values have been decreased to 250 (instead of 300)
- Thor: Receives 1 Thorforce after exiting Awakening Rune state, and enemies leaving the Lightning Realm boundaries are grounded for 2 seconds
Next up on the change list are Duelists:
- Black Panther: Spirit Rend cooldown increased to 10 seconds (instead of 8 seconds)
- Iron Fist: Jeet Kune Do’s fifth strike damage increased to 55 (instead of 50), Yat Jee Chung Kuen damage increased to 2.7% of enemy’s max Health (instead of 2.1%, Harmony Recovery Bonus Health decay starts at 2 seconds (instead of 1 second), and K’un-Lun Kick’s first strike damage increased to 25 (instead of 30).
- Star-Lord: Gets 25 Health when using Stellar Shift (up to 25) that’ll last for 3 seconds before decaying over 1 second
- Wolverine: Energy Cost of Last Stand increased to 3400 (instead of 2800), and lifesteal from Primal Flame team-up won’t add to Wolverine’s ultimate ability recharge
- Spider-Man: damage-per-second of Spectacular Spin increased to 170 (instead of 150)
Last but not least are the Strategist changes coming with Marvel Rivals Version 20250808:
- Adam Warlock: energy cost of Karmic Revival decreased to 4700 (instead of 5000), Karmic Revival will now revive allies with Bonus Health that’s 70% of their Max Health and lasts for 5 seconds before decaying over 2 seconds, and Cosmic Cluster will reduce Avatar Life Stream charge times by 0.3 seconds per hit
- Cloak and Dagger: Energy cost of Eternal Bond increased to 4300 (instead of 4000)
- Mantis: Healing Flower’s healing over time effect decreased to 10/second (instead of 12.5/second), Life Energy Blast projectile charges decreased to 15 (instead of 20), and Soul Resurgence’s excess healing to Bonus Health convergence rate increased to 1 (instead of 0.7)
