The Loose Leaf Team at Kitfox Games announced today that Loose Leaf: A Tea Witch Simulator is being put on the back burner, and there are currently no plans to bring it back in the future.
According to a statement on Steam, the team decided to put the simulator on hold after spending years trying to fix critical design issues. Unfortunately, they don’t see a way around these problems that would result in a game they’re proud of. This led to them stopping the project for the time being.
The developers did point out that they loved the project. If something changes in the future, it’s possible that they’ll bring back the simulator. Loose Leaf: A Tea Witch Simulator was a game that taught them a lot about development, both as people and as a team.
A lot of detail went into making Loose Leaf. Developers talked about the art of brewing tea and how they wanted the game to feel. The careful crafting of magic mixed with brewing was something that the Loose Leaf team was proud of.
The statement was sure to say that Kitfox isn’t laying anyone off, and that the announcement has nothing to do with Streets of Fortune or Kitfox Publishing. There’s no anticipated impact on any of the studios involved.
After thanking fans, the Loose Leaf Team signed off for the last time.
