This time around, it’s all about ships, and we get to see how we can take control of Goro Majima’s crew and fully customize many elements of the ship’s look, from the hull to the sails, passing by the figurehead and more.

The video also showcases the ability to recruit plenty of NPCs to task them with crewing your ship. On top of that, you can help Majima form bonds with them to improve their performance.

Of course, we can’t talk about naval combat without the “combat” aspect of it, and there are plenty of weapons to choose from and they can be aimed in different directions.

The most powerful angle of attack remains the broadside, so maneuvering and getting in the right position to unleash powerful cannonades is crucial.

Did I forget to mention that Majima can also pull out a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher to wreak further havoc on enemy ships? I did, didn’t I? But now I fixed it.

You can see how it all works in the video below.

If you’re not familiar with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, it’s a spin-off of the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series similar to Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, but it’s leaning a lot more into the wacky side of the series.

While it features a similar Hawaiian setting as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, it completely changes tone as it focuses on Goro Majima and his adventures as a pirate.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii releases on February 21, 2025, for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

If you’d like to see more about the game, you can enjoy the latest screenshots and details, the original reveal from just before the Tokyo Games Show, a trailer about naval battles, one about combat, and one about side activities, a large gameplay reveal, and the reveal of the English voice actors.
