League of Legends has released the Worlds 2024 music video, and it shows off rich London history beside T1’s 2023 Worlds win in a classic League of Legends fight.
Yesterday, Riot announced that Linkin Park would perform the 2024 Worlds Anthem, Heavy is the Crown. The video itself follows the name, showing T1 defending its crown against several other teams from the 2023 World Championship.
Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok wearing a crown, a homage to his incredible career. The Unkillable Demon King has four Worlds wins, more than anyone else in League of Legends esports. He’s played for T1 since 2013. The music video also shows T1’s 2023 roster helping him defend his crown.
This is a touching moment for League of Legends and T1 fans. Many have questioned Faker’s mental and physical health after over a decade of pro play (something the T1 documentary will discuss based on teasers).
Like most League of Legends Worlds music videos, the pro players have aspects of the Champions they play. For example, T1 is represented as follows:
- Faker: Azir
- Oner: Lee Sin, Viego
- Zeus: Aatrox
- Gumauysi: Xayah
- Keria: Thresh
The teams trying to break in include Bilibili Gaming and Red Canids, among others. Players from around the world were included despite Worlds participation, such as FlyQuests’ Massu and KT Rolster’s Deft.
Linkin Park was also animated, which isn’t abnormal for a Worlds music video. However, the amount of attention given to the band was much higher than average, leading many fans to criticize the video.
Many of the fighting sights and background art are based on London’s history itself.

League of Legends Worlds 2024 Championship will start on September 25, with the opening ceremony and Final game on November 2.
