The developers of the upcoming combat flight simulator Korea: IL-2 Series at 1C Games showcased one of the aircraft included in the title, the Lavochkin La-11.
The La-11, which NATO called “Fang,” made its maiden flight in 1947 and was a direct descendant of the La-9. It was also much evolved compared to the La-7 of World War 2 fame, with over triple the effective range and increased firepower.
Thanks to today’s reveal, we get to see the highly detailed external model, providing a glimpse of one of the last piston engine fighters created by the Soviet Union.

Korea: IL-2 Series is coming to PC but doesn’t have a release date just yet. Recently, we got to see some interesting animations for the artillery units that will be implemented in the game.
If you’re unfamiliar with the IL-2 series, it’s a combat flight simulation series that debuted all the way back in 2001 with IL-2 Sturmovik, set on the Eastern Front for World War II.
At that time, it was very innovative and provided a lot of interesting features in a genre that was already starting to slide out of the AAA field into a much smaller niche. It also came with a rather advanced multiplayer suite for the time.
Over the years, the series has expanded to other fronts and periods, including World War I. Recently, it even received a tank simulator. The next setting is the Korean War, which certainly doesn’t get much simulated attention.
