Today, Gaming Factory released a significant new update to JDM: Japanese Drift Master, refining its driving physics, restores tire pressure tuning and addresses several multiplayer and vehicle-related issues.
The JDM: Japanese Drift Master physics update starts by improving suspension response and rebound speeds when driving over uneven surfaces, while changes to wheel force during skids are intended to improve steering response and grip recovery. Vehicle behavior during minor steering corrections has also been adjusted, particularly for rear-heavy cars.
Tire pressure tuning has returned to the Car Tuning Workshop, giving players another option when adjusting their vehicles. The update also fixes several multiplayer issues, including incorrect track completion percentages, problems displaying nicknames longer than 10 characters, missing warnings when leaving an ongoing race, premature post-race voting screens and gamepad navigation problems in event creation menus.
Several vehicle-specific issues have also been addressed in the JDM: Japanese Drift Master physics update. The Nissan 180SX Type R now properly reflects changing statistics on the career screen, while the Nissan Z33 has received a fix for inverted headlights. The Ironvale Hauler F84 has had its front collision behavior corrected, the FSO Polonez now has its missing seats, and body kit and right mirror placement issues have been fixed for the Akina Phantom and Roebuck Jetstream.
Alongside the update, JDM: Japanese Drift Master is available at a limited-time discount, with the Steam version reduced by 60% and the PlayStation version by 50%.
Gaming Factory said it remains focused on expanding the game despite operating on a smaller scale than major AAA productions. Following the recent addition of multiplayer on consoles, the studio is now completing work on the game’s planned liveries system, which it described as one of its two largest roadmap features for the year, while additional unannounced content is also in development.
JDM: Japanese Drift Master is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more on the simulator’s story, cars, and recent updates, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
