To mark the triumph of its first year, JDM: Japanese Drift Master is releasing a series of special updates, discounts, and community events. The first major announcement to coincide with the anniversary is the release of the long-awaited multiplayer mode.

The multiplayer playtest is now available via an official Steam branch, though it is currently limited to Steam. After weeks of teasers, it was also revealed that the American Classics DLC has launched, with six new, unlicensed, American-inspired cars for $5.99.

Other new cars, content, and announcements were made during the anniversary post, including:

  • New Cars & Content: Alongside the DLC, new JDM cars are coming free to all players, with more details to be revealed.
  • Side Story Campaign: Development is progressing on a new side story, with more info expected soon.
  • Livery & Sticker System: Originally promised for Q2 2026, this feature is delayed for polishing, but updates will keep players informed.

Last but not least, JDM: Japanese Drift Master is also getting its largest Steam discount to date at 45% off, available from May 21 to June 4, 2026. This will be the second DLC to come to the racing simulator, following the Made in USA.

For those who may not have heard of the simulator, JDM: Japanese Drift Master is an arcade drifting game that also features a narrative set on in-game manga pages, paying homage to Japanese culture and landscapes at every turn. It takes the players to an open-world, fictional Japanese prefecture – Guntama.

The world features over 250 km of roads, famous tourist landmarks, legendary car enthusiast spots, and more for you to explore with brands like Hyundai, Subaru, and Mazda. Alongside plenty of cars to choose from and an exciting world to explore, the game also features a narrative told through in-game events and manga, giving it a unique feel and ambiance.

The story mode centers on Touma, a Polish driver who dreams of making a name for himself on the local street-racing scene. Now is the perfect time to try it out, as there’s plenty more content still to come in 2026, including more licensed cars on the way, liveries updates, the introduction of multiplayer, and much more.
