Today, the developers of iRacing revealed the upcoming Nascar refresh coming with this year’s Season 3.
At the core of the refresh are 12 updated tracks that are being remodeled to reflect real-world changes and additions.
These include new buildings, grandstands, and the new SAFER barriers. The artwork is also being upgraded to meet modern standards, including 3D catch fencing, advanced 3D trees, 3D SAFER barriers, and 5-layer-shader terrain.
Track materials have also been upgraded with higher resolution and physically based rendering.
The tracks that will get this treatment are Echo Park Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Towa Speedway, Lime Rock Park, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, Phoenix Raceway, Pocono Raceway, Richmond Raceway, and Talladega Superspeedway.

If you’re unfamiliar with iRacing, it’s a subscription-based, esports-focused racing simulation platform on PC considered by many to be one of the most realistic in the industry. It features precisely simulated cars and LIDAR-scanned tracks that reproduce their real counterparts, making it popular among many real racing drivers who use it for training.
It’s also an attractive esports platform as it features racing regulations closely related to the ones used in real motorsports to create an online esports environment that feels as professional as possible, encouraging clean racing, racecraft, and fair play over winning or placing high in the rankings.
iRacing partners with several real-world racing series and organizations, including Nascar, IMSA, the FIA, and many more.
The company behind iRacing is also publishing the next Nascar game, Nascar 25, which will be released this fall for PC and consoles.
