The Indie Live Expo Spring 2025 just ended, and its Indie Spotlight segment shared many gems for lovers of indie games.
If you missed the livestreamed show (which is still available on demand), we have gathered all the reveals here for your perusal.
Of course, simulation games were represented quite abundantly in the lineup, but the show presented titles across all genres and for all tastes.

The first game in the Indie Spotlight Segment is the cute Hungry Meem by Drecom, combining breeding and MetroidVania and coming to PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. It’ll be a simultaneous worldwide release on June 19.
We move on to All in Abyss: Judge the Fake by Acquire and WSS playground. It’s a Poker RPG, and it was actually released on Steam a few days ago.
We then move on to the world premiere of Rain98 by C#4R4CT3R, coming in Q3 2024 for Steam. It’s a “lo-fi psycho-thriller romance adventure” set in Tokyo in 1998.
There can’t be a Japanese indie show without some Touhou Project, and we get to see Marisa of Liartop Mountain by UnknownX, an RPG coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch on September 19, 2025.
Speaking of Touhou Project, we heard directly from Jun’ya “Zun” Ota during the livestream that he’s working on a brand new game in the beloved franchise he created.
Another game coming very soon is the survival crafting game Soulmask by CampFire Studio. It’s actually already available in early access on Steam. We learn that the full release with version 1.0 and new DLC are coming in 2025.
We move on to a segment dedicated to Kodansha’s indie initiative, Kodansha Creators’ Lab, starting with Bokura: Planet, coming on Steam on April 24, 2025.
Next from Kodansha is Rise of Rebellion, a 3D action RPG started by a single developer, releasing on Steam on April 21, 2025.
The third and last game from Kodansha is the super-cute MOCHI-O by Zxima. This is the first time we see it, and it’s coming to Steam at some point in the future.
Next on the menu is a visual novel, Sofia in Exchange for Lies, by Mutan and storynote. We learn the release date, which is on July 3, 2025, for PC via Steam.
Next is The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily by WSS playground, oneoreight, and Alliance Arts. It’s a simulation strategy game, and we learn the release date. It’s coming on July 24, 2025. Interestingly, we also learn that Tomokatsu Sugita will play a role in the game.
Funnily, the following game is titled “Do Not Play” by Scrap and 213℉, a disturbing point-and-click horror adventure coming to Steam in 2026.
We then take a look at GiLGuL by Production Exabilities of Wing of Darkness fame. It’s a strategy RPG visual novel coming to Steam on its newly announced release date of June 19, 2025.
Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis by Who You is next. It’s a story-based, dark fantasy rhythm adventure game coming to Steam. The release date was announced today, and it’s October 30, 2025.
We then get to see Hyke:Northern Light(s), a 2D pixel art top-down action RPG by Blast Edge Games and Akatsuki Games. The producer is Hiroaki Iwano, who previously worked on games like Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and the Star Ocean series. It’s coming to PC via Steam, PS5, and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2025.
Next on the menu is the cute good boy adventure game My Little Puppy by Dreamotion, coming to Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025
Magical Princess by Neotro and Magi is a cute character-raising simulation RPG visual novel coming to Steam. It has over 50 possible endings.
Lastly, we change genre completely and we lose all the cuteness with DMZ: Nuclear Survival by Wild Dog, a multiplayer open-world survival crafting game set in a post-nuclear war world coming soon to Steam in early access.
Below, you can also take a look at the games presented in the Indie Waves segment, which is basically a massive series of sizzle reels in which indie titles were showcased in big waves.
