Today, Brocap Studio has announced that their upcoming game Hubert will be releasing on the PlayStation 5. Hubert, which is also releasing on PC via Steam, is an adventure game about a confident shepherd dog who works to protect his flock of sheep.
In Hubert, the titular dog sees the world through movement, scent, and instinct; by his side is a young girl named Lily, who is the only human who trusts him. Together, they’re hired by a grumpy farmer to herd dozens of sheep across the pasture. It sounds simple, but as it turns out, the sheep have a short attention span, and the farmer has zero tolerance for mistakes.

The game is played entirely from Hubert’s third-person (third-dog?) perspective, letting players experience the world as a working animal would. This unique point of view shapes the herding gameplay as players guide Hubert across natural landscapes while dealing with harsh weather, treacherous terrain, and hidden dangers along the way.
Beyond the farm, the story takes players into the uncharted northern wilderness, where something mysterious stirs. Hubert senses that something is out there that he cannot explain, hinting that this adventure will turn into something bigger than just herding flocks of sheep.
Brocap Studio describes Hubert as a tale of friendship and bravery that blends atmospheric storytelling with herding gameplay. The developers aim to create an experience that feels both cozy and adventurous.

The release date for Hubert is still to be announced for both PS5 and PC, but you can wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store or on Steam if you’re interested in keeping up with when it might come out. In fact, there is a free demo available now on Steam.
