Today, Rockstar Games released the launch trailer for GTA 6, offering another look at the highly anticipated open-world crime game ahead of its November 19, 2026, release.
GTA 6 returns to the sun-soaked streets of Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida, following protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they get entangled in a criminal conspiracy after a seemingly easy score goes wrong. The footage emphasizes the contrast between Leonida’s vibrant, seemingly glamorous setting and the dangerous criminal world at its center, as Jason and Lucia are forced to rely on each other as their situation grows increasingly complicated.
The showcase also features new music from electronic duo Justice, who contributed to the game’s original score and will be a part of the massive radio station lineup, with the track “Flower in a Hurricane” featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. You can take a good look at the action for yourself below:
GTA 6 has been in development since 2015, according to Rockstar co-studio head Rob Nelson, though most of the team shifted its focus to the project after Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in 2018. This puts the game’s development period at approximately 11 years by its scheduled release, reflecting the lengthy production cycle behind one of the most anticipated entries in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
Rocktar officially confirmed GTA 6 was in active development in February 2022, before its first trailer debuted in December 2023. It introduced players to modern-day Vice City and the broader Leonida setting. After initially targeting a 2025 release, the game was delayed to May 26, 2026, then pushed back again to November 19, 2026, to allow more time for development and polish.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Rockstar yet to announce a PC release date. For more information on this and other game news leading up to its release, check back to Simulation Daily.
