During the livestreamed event, we got to see a trailer showcasing the four characters that will follow the beloved Sandalphon (who will release on February 26, 2025) to complete the character pass, alongside their release windows.

Specifically, Galleon will be released in spring 2025. Wilnas will arrive in summer 2025. Meg will release in fall 2025, and Ilsa will close the celebrations in Early 2026.

It’s worth mentioning that we don’t get to see any gameplay of the new characters, who are showcased only with static artwork.

You can enjoy the trailer below and you’ll thank me for saving you from hearing all the “presented by Chipotle” and the other 2362 sponsors of the event repeated to the point of being nauseating.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC.

If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s a fighting game based on the popular Granblue Fantasy mobile game. It was originally released as Granblue Fantasy: Versus in 2020, but Cygames’ esports ambitions were radically hindered by the outbreak of COVID-19, which basically killed in-person fighting game events for two years.

Yet, the re-release launched successfully in 2023 and has been included in EVO’s main lineup in 2024, and has recently been announced as a main event for 2025 as well. Cygames and Arc System Works’ determination certainly appears to have paid off.

Incidentally, in other fighting game news, earlier today we got to see Ogre, the new character coming to French Bread’s Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, and we learned his release date.
