GeoGuessr is coming to the massive Esports World Cup 2025 festival, marking a new era for the online game’s esports presence.
At the Esports World Cup 2025 festival, GeoGuessr is hosting a standalone tournament, the Last Chance Wildcard Tournament. This will have two wildcard sports that will continue on to the GeoGuessr World Championship Finals in Copenhagen later this year.
GeoGuessr will be a part of the Week Three festivities, which take place from July 21 to July 27. This will be at the same time as games like Starcraft 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Honor of Kings, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, and Chess. These are all part of the Esports World Cup alongside the Festival.
The Esports World Cup 2025 Festival will include immersive gaming experiences across the 50,000 square meters of The Boulevard City. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets here.
In a post on Instagram, GeoGuessr explained that this is a big leap forward for the competitive GeoGuessr scene. This is a massive international stage that brings both visibility and credibility to the game.
There have been World Championships for GeoGuessr that started in 2023. However, the Esports World Cup 2025 Festival gives the competitive esports side of GeoGuessr more validity in the community.
GeoGuessr is an online game where players are virtually dropped somewhere in the world, and they have to figure out where they are. It can be played on the GeoGuessr website or on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
