HoYoverse has revealed the details for Genshin Impact Version 5.7, including the character banners (including the long-awaited Skirk), a new story detailing the Traveler’s twin and Dainsleif, events, and optimizations.

Genshin Impact Version 5.7 will continue in Natlan as the Abyss Order ramps up its presence in the region. This story will directly continue from Version 5.6’s story, where players began unraveling new details about their lost twin. This new challenge brings Dainsleif and Skirk out, as players venture into the domain of the Abyss Order.

Skirk will be running on the first character banner as well, and the five-star Cryo user has two different combat styles. The first focuses on her enhanced Normal Attacks, while the other focuses on her AoE Cryo Elemental Burst.

While she can be an on-field DPS with her first style, her kit looks like it synergizes more with other Cryo and Hydro characters as a support, since she also significantly buffs their skills and damage.

Instead of Elemental Energy, Skirk relies on Serpent’s Subtlety, a resource that’s unique to her character.

Dahlia, a four-star Hydro character from the Church of Favonius, will also be on Skirk’s banner. His kit revolves around creating a shield that can be reactivated by his normal attacks or Freeze reactions. At the same time, he buffs his team’s attack speed and can launch enemies into the air.

That first banner will also include Shenhe, a natural team member for a Skirk team. The second character banner for Version 5.7 will feature Natlan’s Archon Mavuika and Emilie.

There are several events and stories coming with Genshin Impact Version 5.7, which will hopefully lighten the mood after the intensity of the Archon Quest.

The first of these takes place at the Sumeru Akademiya. There, a new team-building simulated adventure game is waiting, though players will need to take care of a few research tasks first. Players will receive several rewards through the event, including Primogems and Sethos, a four-star Electro character.

Additionally, a new collection of stories called Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter will see silly stories from characters all over Teyvat. These will include Thoma visiting Mondstadt, Neuvillette visiting Merusea Village, and Dori heading to Inazuma.

A new permanent combat mode is coming with Version 5.7, too. Stygian Onslaught will be a rotating mode that includes three bosses and six difficulty levels. Players can complete them to get Artifacts and a new item called Dust of Enlightenment.

Dust of Enlightenment can be used to re-roll minox affixes on Level 20 Artifacts. This is another long-awaited quality-of-life feature.

When it comes to quality-of-life changes, it doesn’t stop there. Starting in Version 5.7, players will be able to use Fragil Resin to claim tripled rewards from Ley Line Blossoms and common challenge Domains (ones like Artifact or Talent Material Domains).

Other things coming include new Envisaged Echoes for Raiden Shogun and Shenhe, along with game resource options for mobile players.

Amidst all this information is a teaser trailer for Nod-Krai, the next region in Genshin Impact. As Natlan’s story comes to a close later this year, Travelers will venture to Nod-Krai, a region in the Snezhnaya.

Snezhnaya is the last known region of Teyvat left for Travelers to explore. Players can check out the teaser below, along with the key art for Nod-Krai’s teaser:

Genshin Impact Version 5.7 will be released on June 18, 2025, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, and Android.
