HoYoverse has revealed two big announcements for Genshin Impact today — first, Version 5.6, its release date, characters, and storyline; second, a collaboration with the international beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury.
Version 5.6 is coming with an Archon Quest Interlude, taking players back to Mondstadt to face unexpected foes during the Windblume Festival. There, Albedo becomes the enemy of the public (yet again), and players will work to investigate the issue with allies like Venti and even Lady Alice from the Hexenzirkel. There’s even a teaser that Varka may make his first appearance, the true head of the Knights of Favonius.
During all of this, monsters begin to invade the city, and players team up with Lady Alice. To do so, the leader of the Hexenzirkel creates a challenge for players, which will also become a new Weekly Boss Challenge. There’s also a new World Boss players will encounter.
These Interlude Quests often contain a lot of the game’s lore. Version 5.6, or Act IV’s Interlude Archon Quest, specifically includes Venti and Lady Alice, two characters that many predict will have a massive impact on Genshin Impact’s story.
Version 5.6 is also bringing players back to Fontaine in a brand-new management event. Players will run an amusement park in the region, where they’ll need to upgrade attractions (like Eclectic Escapades, Movie Masterpieces, and Mellow Manor), improve their Service Value, recruit employees, and more. By unlocking Performance Rewards, players can unlock the 4-star bow, Sequence of Solitude.
The event will introduce Escoffier, a five-star Cryo polearm character. She’s a chef at Hotel Debord, and her kit revolves around her cooking skills. Her skill summons the All-Spectrum Multi-Use Cooking Mek, which can absorb Elemental Attacks and cook food or follow the active character and continuously blast Cryo damage. Escoffier’s Elemental Burst will heal her allies, and both of her abilities will reduce enemies’ Cryo and Hydro resistance. Her debuff also strengthens the more Cryo and/or Hydro characters on her team.
Players will also be able to wish for Ifa, a four-star Anemo catalyst character from Natlan. Ifa can heal teammates, dish out damage, and even create an anemo current to pull enemies. Ifa also boosts Swirl and Electro damage that scales with Nightsoul Points, as well as automatically healing the active character when they need it.
Escoffier and Ifa will be available in the first phase of Version 5.6, along with Navia. Phase two will feature Kinich and Raiden Shogun.
Additionally, the Chronicled Wish system is coming back. This time, it focuses on five-star characters from Inazuma.
Genshin Impact Version 5.6 will be available on May 7 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S, iOS, and Android. Players can watch the trailer below:
That’s not all the news HoYoverse had about Genshin Impact. The game is doing its first international beauty collaboration with Charlotte Tilbury.
