Today, soccer simulation developer Sports Interactive announced the official release date for Football Manager 25. The title is set to officially arrive globally on Xbox PS5, mobile (via Netflix) PC, & Mac on November 26, 2024, and will also be available via Xbox Game Pass. Nintendo Switch players need not fret either, as Football Manager 25 will also be released on the console just a few days later, on December 3, 2024.
Last year, Football Manager 24 broke records for the series, with more than 14 million players. Those numbers mean over a 97% increase year over year, with over 1 billion matches played as of late August.
One of the biggest changes from last year to this iteration of the game is that Sports Interactive switched game engines. Football Manager 25 is now powered by the Unity engine, signifying a big leap in technical and visual prowess for the series. The user interface has also been completely revamped, which is huge considering how important these menus are to such a tactical game.
Women’s Football debuts alongside these improvements, as players can now control Premier League teams lined with well-known female stars, from Sam Kerr to Alisha Lehmann. In a press statement coupled with the release, Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson commented on these additions, “FM25 is just the starting point for the studio’s next 20, 30 years. It’s also the point where the world gets to see two of our multi-year projects come to fruition: the switch to the Unity engine and the introduction of Women’s Football.”
The press release also stated that the developers will be monitoring player feedback while planning the roadmap for the rest of the year of Football Manager 25.
