Square Enix revealed the annual Moonfire Faire event that celebrates the summer in the popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.
The event will start on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 1:00 a.m. PDT, and it’ll end on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 7:59 a.m. PDT.
Players who meet the minimum required level 30 will be able to start the quest by talking to the NPC Mayaru Moyaru at the usual location called The Aftcastle in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.
Unlike last year, this time around the reward is a glamour set, and specifically a wetsuit including Maritime Top, Maritime Shorts, Maritime Mirrored sunglasses (which strangely go on the head slot and not in the new eyewear slot), and Maritime Sandals.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Moonfire Faire, it’s one of the traditional seasonal events in Final Fantasy XIV, having started in 2011 in 1.0, when it was still named Firefall Faire. It was then renamed Moonfire Faire the following year, in 2012, and it has continued ever since.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. It was just updated to version 7.3 yesterday, and you can check out the update’s trailer and plenty of details and gameplay footage of the new content.
Incidentally, Final Fantasy XIV is one of the pillars of Square Enix’s game lineup, and its recurring revenue does wonders to keep up its otherwise shaky financials.
Incidentally, Square Enix will share its financials tomorrow morning, so we’ll know more about just how much FFXIV saved the day this time around.
