SCS Software revealed the first look at a project to refresh the Scandinavia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2.
The DLC is one of the oldest released for the game, and we learn that it has sold over 5 million copies, which is a rather mind-boggling number.
As such, the popular truck sim developer is working on giving it a fresh coat of paint to bring it closer to current standards and better integrate it with the upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC.
While it won’t be a total rework (hence why the developer calls it a “refresh,”it will still be an “extensive reskin” of the region with updated textures and technology.
It’ll involve updated materials for vegetation, road textures, various assets, and more, on top of a few new rest stops and fuel stations along the roads and new and updated junctions.
That being said, some areas are getting reworked from the ground up, including the capital city of Denmark, Copenhagen, which is being rebuilt from scratch.
The refresh will be a free update for all who purchased the DLC and you can check out a large gallery of screenshots below.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is available exclusively for PC and it recently received update 1.53 with the rework of Germany, (including Berlin, München, Mannheim, Leipzig, and Dresden) and another rework for the Volvo FH Series 4. Free add-ons including the Iveco S-Way and the Volvo FH Series 6 and 5.
A DLC dedicated to Greece has been recently released and you can take a look at screenshots of the Highways, a massive cement production plant, the Corinth Canal, industries and depots, some natural vistas, big cities, smaller ones on the coast, the hotels, and an extensive gameplay video.
If you want to see more of the Nordic Horizons DLC, you can check out its landscapes and landmarks.
A few days ago, we also learned more about further plans for the simulator and its sister game American Truck Simullator, on top of the upcoming rigid trucks.
