SCS Software has released the 1.59 Update for Euro Truck Simulator 2, bringing with it the Benelux Rework project, Volvo Trucks Experience Center, Thermo King branding, new route advisor widgets, Tow to Road, and several UI/UX changes to improve the simulator.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the update is the Benelux Rework, which completely reworked Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg maps. This means that all the cities have also been revamped, including Amsterdam, Groningen, Rotterdam, Brussels, Liège, and Luxembourg City.
New locations are also included in the Benelux Rework, including Antwerp.
The 1.59 Update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 also opens the Volve Trucks Experience Center in Sweden. Users can test out their driving and handling here, though they’ll have to find the entrance in Gothenburg themselves without the help of the GPS.
The Volvo Trucks Center is available to players with the Scandinavia DLC.
Additionally, the newest update also adds Thermo King branding on refrigerated units. The Thermo King A-360, A-400, A-500, SLXi-300, and SLXi-400 will now be on single trailers that use them, while the UT-1400R will be on double trailers.
Additionally, the Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.59 Update introduces a slew of changes that mirror its sister game, American Truck Simulator. These include new finance and damage widgets for the route advisor, quickly and easily showing players the damage to their truck, trailer, and cargo. It also shows players’ bank balance and profit from the past seven days.
The Tow to Road feature is also officially live with the 1.59 Update, giving players a way to quickly get back on the road in the case that their truck gets stuck or overturned.
Other changes include a redesign of the Skill screen, UI and UX changes to the in-game news banner and map (particularly geared at controller users), and a traffic sound rework.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 users can check out the full 1.59 Update changelog here in the official patch notes. There’s also a video recap of all that can be viewed below:
