Considering the record-shattering success of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for Microsoft, it’s not too surprising that the franchise is being featured in the 2025 Esports World Cup. This isn’t the first time Call of Duty has been at the Esports World Cup – in 2024, Modern Warfare III and Warzone were both included. There’s still the possibility that Warzone will be included next year, too.

There are still 23 more games to be revealed, which are being announced slowly until the end of December. A countdown for each announcement can be found here. Essentially, a game will be announced every few days.

Past games have included Apex Legends, DOTA 2, Overwatch 2, Tekken 8, Rocket League, League of Legends, EA Sports FC, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Seige, StarCraft II, Teamfight Tactics, PUBG, and even Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

In case you haven’t heard of the Esports World Cup, it’s a summer event hosted in Saudi Arabia that invites teams from all over the world to compete in the most popular games. There are multiple qualifiers in global regions. Last year, there were three different formats: a knockout stage, points rush, and grand final.

The first Esports World Cup was held this year, though the event replaced the Gamer8 Esports Festival from the Saudi Esports Federation that started in 2022.

The Esports World Cup isn’t the only one of its kind for 2025. The Olympic Esports is set to start in 2025, and it will also be held in Saudi Arabia.
