Frontier showcased the next ship that will come soon to Elite Dangerous, the Gutamaya Corsair, also sharing details and a release date.
The ship will be available to Elite Dangerous players on April 8, 2025, in two versions: base and Stellar Edition.
It’s a next-generation medium multirole ship that can do pretty much everything, including combat, exploration, and cargo. It’s actually the first medium ship by Gutamaya and the first medium ship with size-7 thrusters.
It’s not formally an Imperial ship, so you don’t need any Imperial rank to fly it.
It comes with 3 large and 3 medium weapon hardpoints, all located within the fuselage. As for optional internal equipment, it has one each size 1-4 hardpoints and 3 each size 5 and 6 slots.
The maximum cargo without penalizing jump range is 380, and it’s also possible to have a shield equipped while keeping that capacity.
The core internals include a size-7 power plant, size-7 thrusters, size-5 FSD, size-4 life support, size-7 power distributor, size-6 sensors, and a size-5 fuel tank.
You can check it out in the video below, including a look at the various liveries that will be available at launch.
Elite Dangerous is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, but the console versions are limited and aren’t getting recent expansions and updates, like the recent Trailblazers update.
The game was originally funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign and has been in operation since 2014. In fact, it has recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary.
