Just a little while after revealing their Madden 25 deep dive, EA has now given simulation football fans on the other side of the pond something to be excited about. In the breakdown for the newest trailer for EA Sports FC 25, we get to see an in-depth look at how the new player roles and FC IQ system look to revamp the way players move about the pitch.
Whereas playstyles were a big change to how players move on the ball when introduced in EA Sports FC 24, the video below details how player roles will impact how movement works for specific personalities off the ball. This means having a role in where they’ll be and how they interact with other players and the ball’s movement in accordance with their own traits and attributes.
The FC IQ system also features something known as Role Familiarity, which overlaps with player roles and just about everything else to make for an important feature. Check out the specifics below:
- Role – A regular role means the player can play in that role.
- Role+ – Indicated with a ‘+’ sign meaning this player has mastered the role (every player in FC 25 has at least one Role+)
- Role++ – A ‘++’ sign indicates the player is a world-class player in this role.
- Out of Position – A yellow exclamation mark indicates a simplified version of the role when the player is out of position.
Pre-orders for EA Sports FC 25 are now live. Depending on which version you order, you’ll get a lot of unique incentives, including exclusive Ultimate Edition career items, FUT coins and players, and much more.
