Dota 2 has released its Spring Forward 2025 update, a “sometimes-annual” event update that includes quality of life changes, new hero sets, patch 7.39, and more.
The quality of life changes may be the largest part of the update, as Dota 2 is getting a massive refresh. To start with, there will be a new auto-buy feature that streamlines the in-game buying process. Players can choose an item path (including custom-made ones), and the game will automatically buy items from it. Players will also be able to see what their teammates are buying.
There have also been a plethora of UI changes that affect everything from the shop to the pre-game menu. Here’s a look at everything that’s been adjusted:
- Buyback tooltip
- Pre-game screen
- Item Context Menu
- Dota Plus Guide
- Pings
- Item Pickup
- Minimap Route
- Status Labels
- Settings
- Chat Wheel
- In-game Notifications
Additionally, the voice chat has been upgraded in terms of quality, letting everyone use their voices and sound better (because yes, communication is important in MOBAs). All of the maps that are currently playable have also been adjusted, making new pathways in some and adjusting spacing in others.
Ability Draft has also been adjusted, making it so that players have to draft their hero as well as their abilities. There’s also Facets and a ton of bug fixes that came with it as well.
There were also several other things added and adjusted, like post-game graphs, dead creep glitches, vector-targeting snapping improvements, and new MVP backgrounds. To check out the full list of everything that was improved and changed, view the Dota 2 Spring Forward 2025 notes here.
