Microsoft has announced the return of its Developer Direct event, which is set to take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 1 pm EST on the official Xbox YouTube and Twitch channels.

During this event, fans will get an inside look at some of the most highly anticipated games that are coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass this year. That includes titles like South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and DOOM: The Dark Ages.

South of Midnight is an upcoming third-person action-adventure game being developed by Compulsion Games (Contrast and We Happy Few). Set in the American Deep South, players will help guide Hazel through a mysterious, folktale-inspired journey to help uncover her family’s dark, hidden past.

Developer Direct 25 is set to be somewhat of a coming-out party for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is Sandfall Interactive’s debut RPG. While not much is known about the title so far, the event promises to show off more about the game’s creation and plans for its lavish fantasy world and story.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is a game that needs no introduction, as fans have been waiting for more info on the third installment in id Software’s beloved franchise ever since it was announced last summer. Players will once again step into the blood-stained boots of the Doom Slayer in a brand new adventure against the demons of Hell.

The first Developer Direct was back in 2023, as Microsoft wanted to showcase its upcoming first-party content from its studios, debuting trailers, teasing DLC, and much more. Since then, the event has expanded to include a wider range of developers and publishers, including third-party titles.
