The Department of the Air Force Gaming League, or DAFGL, has revealed details about the Spring 2025 season, including the games featured in the league and dates.
The DAFGL, which actually opened up registration last week, will feature Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and League of Legends as the Core Leagues. The Black Ops 6 league will have a four-versus-four CDL format, while League of Legends will be five-versus-five on Summoner’s Rift.
The Core Leagues will be an eight-week Swiss (or Round Robin) season with playoffs and Grand Finals at the end. The top eight teams will face off in a single-elimination bracket, and a Grand Finals will be broadcast for fans.
The dates for the Core Leagues match each other, with the exception of the Grand Finals:
- January 13: Registration Opens
- February 5: Registration Closes and Brackets are Formed
- February 8: Matches begin
- March 29: Matches end, Final Day of Regular Season
- April 26-27: Quarterfinals and Semifinals (Playoffs)
- May 3-4: Grand Finals
The Core Leagues aren’t the only leagues within the DAFGL. There are also Ladder Leagues, which are open to those outside of the military across all skill levels. The games and formats are as follows:
- Apex Legends (three-versus-three)
- Magic: The Gathering (Pauper Format, one-versus-one)
- Rocket League (two-versus-two)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (one-versus-one)
- Warzone (two-versus-two)
These Ladder Queues are open every Friday through Sunday throughout the entire Spring 2025 season. Players and teams can compete whenever they’d like from January 18 to May 4. Registration began on January 14, though it’s ongoing throughout the season.
Those looking to register can do so here.
