Today, CD Projekt Red announced that the next big patch coming to its hit action-RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, is going to be a PS5 Pro enhancement update.
The Cyberpunk 2077 technological update will be for the PS5 version of the game, and is set to arrive in the not-too-distant future, though no exact release date has been given. The developers did state to stay tuned for more details on specs in the coming weeks.
CD Projekt Red also noted that this update will not be introducing any new in-game content and will solely focus on allowing it to take advantage of the expanded hardware capabilities offered by the PS5 Pro system.
The team recently stated that there are no new plans for additional DLCs or expansions for the game, amidst a flurry of rumors that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a surprise DLC to tie into the release of The Witcher 4.
Cyberpunk 2077 originally launched back in 2020, finding success despite being widely criticised for bugs and glitches, particularly on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Since then, the developers have been hard at work on patches and updates, addressing technical issues and adding story content along the way.
As of November 26, 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 shipped 35 million copies, including both individual copies and the ultimate edition bundle, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time. A sequel has also been announced, though little is known about it other than that the team is growing exponentially.
