Today, the folks at Paradox provided a few interesting teases about content and features coming to Crusader Kings 3 in 2026.
We learn that there’s going to be a new chapter, and this likely surprises no one.
While 2025, with the release of Khans of the Steppe and All Under Heaven, was a year in which the developer developed the game in a wide direction, 2026 will be dedicated to depth.
The new chapter will focus on expanding “central areas of the game” that the developers have been wanting to work on for some time.
As a hint, we get to see a render of a Donkey, which you can enjoy in the video below.
We’ll also get more creator packs, and a “Realm Maintenance” update should come earlier in Q2. It’ll focus on fixes and improvements like better Accolades, with  Accolade knights getting an automatic successor in the form of a squire.
The quality of the squire will be determined by the knight’s performance, while attributes will become more interactive, giving players more agency on getting the ones they want. Glory will also be revamped so that it won’t be lost if the knight dies in battle.
“Stories” which are the varios story cycles we get involved with like Conquerors, the Song of El Cid, Mirror in the Mud, etcetera, will have their ownn menus showing their progress and effects.
Even pets will finally have their own menus showing their characteristics like fur color, age, etc.
Incidentally, if the DLCs are starting to look excessive, the developers are considering a subscription including access to them all, like what we have in other Paradox games.
