Capcom announced its financial results for the first half of fiscal year 2026, related to the period between April and September, and the Osaka-based company is continuing its victorious cavalcade.

According to the official documents, net sales for the whole company were 120,887 million yen (up 49.0% year-on-year), while operating profit was 60,769 million yen (up 54.5% year-on-year).

Looking at the Digital Contents business, which is how Capcom defines its video game business in financial lingo, net sales were 85,100 million yen, up 71% year-on-year, while operating profit was 52,300 million yen, up 67% year-on-year.

This means that Capcom as a whole has operated on a 50.3% operating margin for the first half of the fiscal year, while the video game business did even better.

For every yen they spent, they made two. Let that sink. This is even more impressive considering that the company has been growing consistently basically forever, and this fiscal year is expected to continue that trend.

Unit sales for Capcom Games were 36.86 million against 23.85 million in the first half of the previous fiscal year. This was also the highest-ever number for the first-half of the year.

We also learn that Onimusha: Way of the Sword sold over 1.7 million units worldwide, and will likely continue to sell. This is why Capcom’s winning strategy is to continue to support older games with marketing and sales in the long run, boosting their results greatly.

If you’d like to compare these results with historical data, you can read our report about the previous quarter, based on data released in July

Other gaming companies have already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo. You can expect more reports on this topic in the coming days and weeks.
