Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Director Hiroshi Yoshimura and Producer Keita Iizuka provided new details on the upcoming Code Vein 2: Mask of Idris DLC and free Ver. 2.0 update, both of which are scheduled to launch on September 9, 2026.
In the developer message seen below, Bandai Namco shared new story details, characters, weapons, challenges, and gameplay coming in the Mask of Idris expansion. Code Vein 2: Mask of Idris takes players to the Forsaken World, a new area formed from erased histories and now threatened by the growing Temporal Rift.
Players will encounter Liv Voda, Valentin’s sister and the original guardian of the Temporal Rift, who considers the protagonist an outsider interfering with a world they do not belong in, while another version of Lou will also appear with her own tragic history, explored throughout the DLC’s story.
The expansion will launch alongside the free Ver. 2.0 update, which expands the post-game experience with additional ways to explore, battle, and customize characters. The Age of Harmony allows players to travel alongside their partners while experiencing new episodes for each character.
At the same time, Trials of Remembrance introduces consecutive boss rematches featuring rewards that include more than 90 new character customization parts. Code Vein Version 2.0 will also add Jadwiga as a summonable partner, alongside a new story-focused mode and a Legacy character shader inspired by the anime-like visual style of the original Code Vein.
These additions give players more content to enjoy after completing the main game, along with additional customization and combat options. Code Vein 2: Mask of Idris launches September 9, 2026, and is available now with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions. Code Vein 2 is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
