According to the documents provided by the publisher, net sales were 45,502 million yen (up 53.7% year-on-year), while operating profit was 24,597
million yen (up 90.8% year-on-year).

The Digital Contents business, which is all about video games, achieved net sales of 29,857 million yen (up 39.4% year-on-year) and an operating profit of
20,057 million yen (up 56.4% year-on-year).

This success was driven primarily by catalog sales of games released in previous fiscal years, including Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 4, on top of Street Fighter 6, which also got its Nintendo Switch 2 port in June.

As a result, the company sold 14.16 million units of games, a stark increase compared to the 9.53 million units sold in the same period of the previous year.

While we’re only at the first quarter, Capcom is on track to achieve its full year forecast, which would result in 13 consecutive years of profit growth.

We also learn that during the quarter, Street Fighter 6 passed 5 million units shipped, Devil May Cry 5 passed 10 million units thanks to the synergy with the anime, and the announcement of Resident Evil Requiem boosted sales of the Resident Evil series.

Specifically, Devil May Cry 5 sold a whopping 1.782 million units and is now at 10.512 million units sold.

The only wart in this successful scenario was Monster Hunter Wilds, which saw sales that Capcom considers “soft.” On the other hand, sales of Monster Hunter Rise increased.

That being said, Wilds still sold 477,000 units during the quarter, reaching a lifetime total of 10.585 million units.

Rise sold 389,000 units, reaching a lifetime total of 17.564 million units.

Below, you can check out units sold for relevant games during the quarter and in their lifetime, on top of cumulative sales for Capcom’s major brands.

Other gaming companies have also already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo, Ubisoft, Krafton, and Electronic Arts.
